Fields for Kids Program Donates More Than $180,000 in 2007

Program benefits 38 communities in 2007

Twins Community Fund donates more than $180,000 to renovate baseball and softball fields.

The Twins Community Fund’s Twins Fields for Kids program provides financial support to improve baseball and softball fields for youth. The program makes matching grants to non-profit organizations and local government units that operate baseball and softball programs. The Twins Fields for Kids program is supported by the Toro Company.

Since 1999, the Fields for Kids program has donated nearly $1.25 million to renovate more than 320 youth baseball and softball fields in the Upper Midwest, Southwest Florida and Latin America. This year the program donated more than $180,000 to 38 communities.

During a Twins pre-game ceremony in September, representatives from the communities were on hand to receive plaques which will be displayed at each of the renovated fields to signify the community’s participation in the Fields for Kids program. On hand to present the plaques were Stacy Bogart, Director of the Toro Company Giving Program and Dave Stead, Chair of the Minnesota Twins Community Fund Board of Directors.

The organizations that received grants were:
